15 & 16/4/2012 – Day 2 & Day 3 of the 5 day trip to Hà Giang (the northernmost province of Vietnam). We arrived at Đồng Văn town at 5pm. Next to our hotel there were 3 big motorbikes which we saw when our mini bus had problem on the pass. It turned out that these motorbikes were owned by 3 Thai travelers. Vương Chính Đức was the King of H'mong people in Hà Giang province in the early 20th century. He has 3 wives. The Wang family ("Vương" in Vietnamese) was wealthy owing to producing and exporting opium.

It was found that this insect had existed millions of years ago at this area.

The words mean "Socialist Republic of Vietnam - National Flag Tower - Lung Cu - Dong Van district, Ha Giang province"

The tower is placed on the top of the Dragon Mountain. There are 704 stairs to the flag towers and totally 839 stairs to the top of the flag tower.

What a great trip
I'm so enjoying your account of your trip. I went to Ha Giang in 2010 but didn't go any further because I got a bit scared about the roads. I'm not good with heights. Of course now, after reading your blog, I'm quite keen to go and see it for myself.
