Another great day on the bikes, cooler to start off with, but scorching in the afternoon. Been stupidly hot and sweaty! Covered a lot less miles and checked into the hotel before lunch. Spent the afternoon going to visit more minority villages and the people have been so friendly and nice. The guide has been translating and they're just as interested in asking us questions as we are them. Went into the chiefs house and his wife sat with us. The community traditionally have these huge bamboo long houses that serve as meeting rooms, they have the highest roofs you've ever seen! The villages had, in the last few years receieved money from the Vatican to build their own churches, saving the villagers from the long walks every weekend. We went to a woodern church, and because it is Easter, and the minorities are Catholic because of the French influence, many people had camped by the church to attend the services over the weekend.

Went to an orphanage this afternoon which was next to the big church, the kids were really sweet and reminded me a bit of Uganda, but was quite different and the kids were a lot less fussed by our attention. Going out now for dinner, still eating so well, but it's a strange culture, they all go to bed very early, about 9pm (outside of the cities) and wake at about 5am. We're always the last in the resturant at 8pm!!
