6 & 7 December 2009 - Pleiku was our final destination on the 5-day trip. This city is the capital of Gia Lai province. Again we had to go by mini bus, but this time the distance from Kon Tum to Pleiku is only 50km. There were 23 people inside the 16 seater mini bus and it was fully packed. We saw these yellow flowers everywhere in the Central Highlands.

The noodles are fried with chicken / beef and vegetables. The soup is separate in another bowl. "Phở khô" (dry noodles) is specialty of the Central Highlands and we saw this food in 3 cities on this trip.

T'rung is a famous musical instrument in the Central Highlands. It contains many bamboo pipes.

This is the foot of a tree which is millions years old. It was found on the top of a volcano in Gia Lai province. (Gốc cây cổ thụ hoá thạch lớn nhất Việt Nam hàng triệu năm tuổi, được tìm thấy ở miệng núi lửa Chư Á Thai, huyện Ajunpa, tỉnh Gia Lai)
