Hi everyone a long time since I last wrote. A couple of people have been trying to contact me and the best way I have found is through email. My email address is wjnslinger@gmail.com or facebook. I left the memory card with pictures of Bangkok in my room so these are pics of my travels around some islands. First we travelled from Bangkok on the sleeper train to Surat Thani. Little did I know Chinese New Year was upon us so there were no beds I spent the most unconfortable 10 hours of my life on a semi retractable chair where every noise or smell woke me. I am positive a leper sat behind us and as we got on he was just lying on the floor in front of us and he gave me his hand to help him up I grimaced and helped him to his feet. The whole journey I contemplated whether or not I had lepresy and he snored bloody loudly too. We arrived at Surat Thani got a bus to a pier and a boat to Ko Samui. We got scammed by this guy called "cowboy" who showed us and four lads from Hull around and
wouldnt take u to anywhere we wanted this was frustrating especially as one of the guys from Hull was so high and so belligerant we were all having a go at him. Cowboy said he didnt want anyone smoking in his van and this guy lit up swaring at cowboy he didnt like being told what to do. He ended up getting a deserved cuff round the ear from his mates haha. We then got a ferry to Ko Phan-ngan where we spent all night out and all day either in bed or on the beach. One restaraunt showed Friends on a tv so we spent a lot of time there and of course at this pro evo shack!!! I have no pics of my time here but really did nothing of note. We went out one night with soem ex Finnish army guys, which was fun yhey had just got out there national service and were a good laugh. After about five days we decided to go check out Ko Phi Phi. This is on Thailands other cost so we caught a minivan over which was fun. Shared it with some Canadian a Brit and an American. Ko Phi
Phi pretty much followed in the same vane, of sleeping and partying, we met some nice people notablly the legendary Aussie who Nick has photos of. We did a day trip on a longtail boat which was awesome. We went snorkelling there is some wicked coral in Thailand and some pretty fish. We went cliff Jumping too; the photo of the sailing boat is also the jumping platform it was the same height as the mast. I have never done anything so scary. Me Nick and an Aussie jumped in and swam over to the ladder and we swam past an Israeli girl warned us to jump in straight me and the Aussie looked at eachother as she turned around she had awful bruising all up the back of her legs and buttocks i gulped haha. We also went to Monkey beach got lunch and looked at the fun monkeys. They were a bit domesticated though you see and just sat there and waited for the tourists to give them food!! It was sad but they were still monkeys, one was called George apparently (inside family joke)... We also went to a protected Island (one with the Tsunami signs) a
beautiful lagoon where I saw the most drop dead gourgeous girl I have ever seen climbing some rocks no picture sorry I didnt want to get in trouble. We also went to Maya Beach where the movie the beach was filmed which was cool. We sailed back to Ko Phi Phi with the promise of a sunset which was unfortunately obscured by cloud but I still got a decent pic. The next days consisted of more going out and I got a cool Pink same-same shirt (all the rage in Thailand).
After Ko Phi Phi we got the sleeper train back after an interesting coach journey with an Australian guy and his Japanese girlfriend. They instrust Yoga in Brisbane and told me all about it, anyone who gets stressed or angry should give it a try I think I will back in Holland, it sounds great. We got a train back to Bangkok got a bed this time YESSS!!!!!! I then blobbed with Auntie Joom for a day and saw my uncle briefly. Joom took us to the British club and pampered us which was nice. And then on Friday night we got the bus up to Mae Sot
overnight of course, and I didnt sleep it got us to Mae Sot at 4:30 AM we went to our guest house which was shut, luckily a lovely old woman cycled by and let us sleep on a sofa in the foyer. We have since then (yesterday) explored Mae Sot. We start work tommorow and I am itching to begin.
Sorry I havent been on this a while we were so lazy on the islands. I will get my pictures of Bangkok and tell you about that soon. I looked around some beautiful Watts and even got to see my cousin for a couple of days. I hope you are all doing well
Kind Regards
