Edit Blog Post
So I have honestly been so bad at this whole updating my blog thing and I wanted to apologize. I've just had a lot on my mind lately and just haven't really felt like writing.
Friday 10/31:
So after the knife making thing we headed off to Koh Lanta...again. This time hopefully the weather would be ten times nicer then it was last weekend. It was a 3 hour drive on a van that was VERY uncomfortable. The weather was really nice on the way there so we had high hopes.
The resort we were staying at... Southern Lanta...was a really nice resort. It was bungalow style and right on the beach. The beach that this hotel was on was 10 times better then the one last weekend too. By the time we got there though it was dark out so we couldn't really see the surroundings. It was really funny walking around (we were looking for a good bar) and seeing all these people (maybe 30 total hah) dressed up for halloween. We had made masks out of paper plates but by the end of the day they were pretty much ruined. We had found this really
cool bar and we were just sitting around when these 2 people walked by wearing some pretty scary masks and the next thing we know they are coming up to us and cheering. 2 minutes of no talking and the next thing we know they are taking off their masks and its....KHEM AND JACK!!! and Cha (the bus driver) was down the beach a little. We had been begging them all week to come with us, since it was Nicole and Carols last weekend and we were pretty set on the fact that they would not be joining us, so it was really nice to see them there. But there were only staying for the night.
Saturday 10/31:
Woke up to a gorgeous clear blue sky, the temperature ....HOTT!!!! Had some breakfast and then decided to head to the beach for a little bit. Kiri and I chilled on the beach for a little bit working on our tans, and swimming in the water. Until Sam got stung by another jelly fish (3rd time she has been stung) and I decided to get out. Those jellyfish really hurt. I got stung by one the first weekend and I
still have a mark from it :/
Around 130 we headed off to go ELEPHANT trekking!! SOOO COOOL!! Its really interesting, the first time you ride an elephant. The only way I can describe the feeling of being on an elephant is like riding in a car on a road with more potholes on it then any road you have ever ridden on before. It is such a unique feeling and the whole experience was amazing, but that was just the beginning.
After about an hour on an elephant we drove up to this shack on the side of a road were we rested for about 30 minutes before following a tour guide into the woods. Were we continued to climb this horrendously steep mountain side to a cave. The walk up to the cave alone was enough to make us wonder what we had gotten ourselves into. My shoe broke once (Jackson fixed it) and 3 people fell but we carried on. The cave itself was amazing! It was a huge cave with a lot of ladders and crawling and other many great adventures. We came out the cave 2 hours later covered in mud and sweat,
I would say it was an overall successful weekend.
After all that I was feeling pretty tired and kinda sick. My head felt like it was exploding and it sucked so after dinner I went back to the room and read. Thats the end of my adventures for the weekend.
I have read a ton of books since getting to Thailand but non as good as "The shadow of the wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I recommend that EVERYONE read it. Its is a most unbelievable book. I can't even begin to explain how good it is....BUT YOU MUST READ IT.
