The scenery during the boat ride from Krabi to Ko Phi Phi This weekend was a really fun laid back one compared to some others. There were only four of us that decided to go together, Kiri, Nicole, Sam and myself and we ended up island hopping instead of staying in one place the whole four days. We started off our weekend going to Koh Phi Phi and boy was that a shocking adventure. The minute we landed we couldn't stop thinking how could anyone come here and think they are having a Thai experience. Every where you look there are furangs(thai word for foreigner), usually here in Trang its unbelievable to see another tourist but in Phi Phi it was like we had to try and look for Thai people. It was kinda sad. But it was a really fun time 😊 I got a lot of presents for people which was very helpful, it was a good place for that. And I bought my first piece of art work 😊 . I would try and describe it but I wouldn't do it justice. Its just really cool, take my word for it.
We spent the night at a hostel that was actually pretty nice, they even had air conditioning which
is amazing. We hung out with this kid Michael, who used to be working with us at CCS but ended up ending his placement 2 weeks early to go and work over in Phi Phi and to just hang out. It was very interesting, but he showed us a good time and over all I would say we had a pretty good phi phi experience.
The next morning we took a boat to Koh Lanta at 1130 in the morning. It was a pretty crazy boat and we all swear that the boat drivers were smoking pot. But it was a decent and quick ride to Koh Lanta, about an hour in all. When we got to Ko Lanta it was true monsoon season. It was raining and kept raining for the whole day. We stayed in a 5 star resort because it was the last weekend for low season so it was wicked cheap, about 75USD a night, breakfast included! The food there was unbelievable. After a crazy night in Phi Phi we just decided to watch movies and go to bed, especially because it was raining.
Nothing very exciting happened the next day or the day
after. It rained pretty much the whole wicked which pretty much ruined it. But it was nice to be on a beach with actual waves, even if we couldn't swim in it, just waking up to the sound of the ocean reminded me of home.
On sunday we made some Batiks (really hard to explain so if you wanna know more about them then check out wikipedia
). We then took a van home around 1.
It was a pretty boring weekend over all. Phi Phi was the most exciting day of the whole time. But what can you say...it is MONSOON season!! 😊
