Hello everyone!
Well, we finally made it to a beach. Got here yesterday after a flight from Chang Mai. The flight took 1.45 mins where as a train and bus would have taken about 18hrs.....no brainer. I know Ice will cringe when he hears what we spent.......110 CDN each.......totally worth it.
So, we are now in Phuket on a beach called Karon Beach. It is just south of the touristy beach of Patong beach. Apparently this beach got hit a bit by the Tsunami, but you couldnt tell now. The main damage was done north of here and on the islands. There were actually only like 200 people that died in Thailand, but of course it was overblown because it is so touristy. This place is empty right now. We were on the beach yesterday where apparently there is normally like 2000 people. well, there was about 50 yesterday, so its great for us. The prices are not cheaper and the people are actually quite rude here.......not a great mix to get people back.
We are off on the ferry today to Koh Phi Phi island. Have to stay the night there since well miss the late ferry
to Krabi. I think Phi Phi got hit pretty hard, so we ll prob just stay and go. Gonna try and find the beach that Langer told me about in Krabi., stay there for 3 or 4 days to do some snorkling, canoeing and rock climbing.
