3 of us!
Holiday @ Phuket Well it was our plan to visit Phuket back in 2009 but due to some unavoidable reason (that was more important than the trip) we cancelled that in the last moment. Yes my sweet heart Anny was pregnant! So this time it was not only 2 rather it became 3 of us....Me, Anny and our 1 yr old son Zoheb 😊
Somany friends of mine suggested not traveling with just 1 yr old kid but both of us dared to do that and if any of the new parents planning to travel I would recommend just go ahead and there is nothing to worry about!
We started from Dhaka to KL on 25th Feb and spend the night at Tune Hotels.com - KLIA-LCCT Airport. Its okay for 1 night stoppage but truly that hotel sucks! Form the LCCT airport Tune hotel seems very close but trust me it’s not that close. It’s better to get out from the arrival lounge, follow the left side and take a bus to Tune hotel if you have reservation. The bus will cost 1 RM only.
The very next morning (26th Feb) we took a bus from the hotel to airport and
within few hours we reached Phuket from KL. From the Travel blog we already came to know that we may either take a cab (that usually charge 500 Baht) from the left side of the Airport or Mini bus (150 Baht/pax). We went right from the airport and took a mini bus that was pretty comfortable and drop us in the hotel. As like other traveler we have not booked any hotel at Patong so we tried in the Patong Resort but we found it very expensive. Later we were trying to locate the Ibis Patong resort but it was very sunny and we were damn tired so we tried the Hotels nearby Patong report. After little exploration we decided to stay at Hotel Amata that was cheep but good one (around 1,800 Baht/night…in Phuket everything is very expensive!). We left our luggage in the hotel and came out to visit the Patong beach. First we went to the great Bangla road and in the end of it we reached the jumpy yumpy tourist destination the great Patong beach. Zoheb liked it in the beginning; it was his first time to any beach and started playing in the water, after
Phi Phi
Phi Phi Don Beach a while when the salty water went inside his eyes and nose he started crying…we it was okay after few minutes.
From the beach we get back to Bangla road again and had lunch in the MacDonald. There we found another couple with a lovely kid and also discovered the biggest mistake we did by not carrying the stroller 😞. After lunch we got back to our hotel and took some rest after a lengthy shower. In the evening we again get back to the Bangla road and Patong beach and tried some Thai food in the road side restaurants. We have also reserved a speed boat tour (1100 Baht/pax) to Phi Phi Island for the next day from a tour agent from the road and get back to hotel at night.
On 27th Feb we were expecting transfer from our hotel to Boat Lagoon Marinaat at 8 am but we got up around 7:50 am so missed the breakfast at hotel but we don’t forget to carry the baby food can (while going to the Boat Lagoon Marinaat we fed Zoheb). When we reached the Boat Lagoon Marinaat we found many tourists gathered in a place and waiting
for the speed boat. There we found some people are tempting the tourist to get the foot paddle for snorkeling and telling the importance of it. I was truly tempted and hired one for 100 Baht though I don’t know swimming at all. One more tip for the new parents even the tour agent suggested not to take the speed boat trip for the kid but trust me we couldn’t find a single moment our son suffered sea sickness rather he enjoyed every bit of it. The speed boat went to the Vikings cave first and the scenery is awesome. The water is green and clear. Though it’s not allowed to enter the cave but the supervisor explains well about the cave with her ltl English. From the Viking Cave we went towards the magical landscape of Maya bay …don’t worries like other bloggers I’m not going to mention the Hollywood movie name that was filmed here rather I’d say how I was inspired to visit that place. Few years back me and my wife Anny were watching the Movie ‘The Beach’ and that time I was so exhausted for work pressure and badly needed a break. I’m talking ‘bout
2009 and just after finishing the movie we decided we’ll go to Phuket-Phi Phi Island! So I tried to finish all my task within a month and visited travelblog more than 100 times to gather information from different bloggers. We were done with the Visa, ticket and even packed our bags but just before the date of travelling Anny gave me the sweetest news that I ever got in my life that she is pregnant so I cancelled the trip and promised her that we’ll go next year with the new born. So I concentrated on my job and on her. After a year when our boy became 1 yr handsome we planned for this trip.
To be very frank I was a bit disappointed when we reached Maya Bay because of n number of tourist but that was our dream and it was a great feeling to see your dream come true. We walked in the beach for some time and get back to speed boat for our next destination. From the Maya bay we went to a destination for snorkeling. I was very afraid on this part. With the help of the life jacket and mask I
got down in the water and discovered the beauty of the underwater world. Oh its simply beautiful. From there we went to Phi Phi Don for lunch. After the launch we went to the Khai Nai Island and lay down under the sea shore umbrella. After spending an hour on the beach we went back to the Boat Lagoon Marina. After that we get back to our hotel and again headed to the Bangla road and coordinated with the Travel agent for the next day’s tour and this time the travel agent recommended a full day tour to the Racha or Raya Island in a big boat.
Initially we were hesitating on this full day trip to Raya Island but when we visited that place we found this is the most beautiful Island of Phuket where tourists are very less and the water is very calm and clear. This time (28th Feb) we woke up at 7 am and first thing we completed is the breakfast and waited for the shuttle to the Chalong Pier. The ship was awesome and we enjoyed every bit of it. From the Chalong Pier we headed south of Phuket towards Raya. It seems
Raya is the paradise for divers because of its colorful coral reefs and varieties of fishes. From the ship we went to the shore by a wooden boat and snorkeled near the shore and get back to the ship for launch. The launch was really testy and after that we went to the Raya Noi island for snorkeling. When we get back to Phuket it was already evening so as usual we headed to the Bangla road, enjoyed the night life, enjoyed sea food and dinner at an Indian restaurant.
On 1st Mar I went to an ATV Adventure tour, Elephant Ride and Snake show that cost me around 1,600 Baht. Well this time I went along but enjoyed the ATV tour. While coming back there was a spot from where you can have a magnificent view of Kata and Karon beach. After coming back to hotel we went to the City Center for some shopping and prepared our self to explore Bangkok.
