Well here is the first blog of the trip! I can't believe i'm finally here.. again!
Firstly i have to say i have never seen so many wheel chairs on one flight.. seriously there were literally 10 wheel chairs on my flight from Heathrow to Mumbai?!
Anyway! As soon as i arrived in Thailand i remembered why i like it so much here.. everyone is so friendly! I chatted to people on the plane and then on the sky train.. which by the way is genius!( - so easy to get around .. and cheap as chips to get from the airport to sukhumvit.) Sukhumvit is home to Nana (also where i was staying) which is where you will find Western men perving after Thai women every which way you look.. on the one hand grose, on the other hand if both people are happy and getting something out of the arrangement then who am i to judge! Lots of yummy street food - non of it really vegetarian but you can pull the pieces of meat out and then it becomes 'vegetarian'!!
So Bangkok was great. It's the kind of city that gets better each time you go.
.. or maybe i just like cities better when i start recognising streets and can vaguely find my way around!! I ate some great street food.. including some sweet battery things that you dip in this bright green gloopy stuff.. i mean why green? of all the colours to dye it i would have thought green would be pretty low on the list. Having said that it tasted great!
Then onwards to Krabi. I flew, which was great.. quick and easy - no 14 hour bus ride for me!!
I went straight to the night market when i arrived and was suitably amazed by all the crazy plastic stuff, that was being sold, weird meat like produce that looked like really small baby roast chickens.. only tiny.. what in gods name were they? ... and a game where you try to scoop fish out of a paddling pool with a peice of paper stretched over a hoop and you have to do that before the paper breaks!! .. crazy thai people!! i LOVED it!!
Once i had found cheaper accomodation for my second night in Krabi (the first night was spent in a 'posh' hotel curtesy of my
lovely sister!) I spent my second day in Krabi chilling out in a cafe called 'Good Dream'... quite right too!! and taking in the blue sky, heat and green distant mountain type things!!
I met an english couple there who i chatted to for hours and of course, played cards with!!.. sadly they are leaving Krabi today though, so am off to meet more happy travellers!! .. Meanwhile i think i will do a bit of site seeing - maybe hire a bike to do this (although after witnessing a nasty bike accident this morning i will be very wary) and head to the supposedly aptly named, 'emerald lagoon'.. sounds promising!!
So. that is the start.. a lovely, chilled out beginning.. long may it continue!

Your Auntie,Nurse Christine says you should not eat the street food, but I'm sure you have survived on it for many a trip.Did you mean you would be hiring a motorbike,my brother and I hired a Honda 650cc but it had been so de-tuned it would hardly get up the hill.Anyway look out for the "Red Shirts"and Pattaya protesters.
