After the serene, organised environment of Singapore we arrived at Bangkok airport with a bang. It took Elyse approximately 10 mins to begin muttering Oirishness under her breath at a couple of gibbons at the check-in. Chaos sums that experience up. Anyhow managed to escape there successfully and arrived at Krabi airport to be greeted by a plush motor that whisked us off to our waiting while leather clad speedboat!!!. In true James Bond stylie we were sped around the cove to possibly the most spectacular hotel (Central Krabi Bay Resort) we have ever laid our beedy eyes on. And who was waiting to meet & greet us ????? - the fat brother in law and hoppy the sister!!!! Proceeded to acquaint ourselves with the staff that evening, in particular the underground Blu bar with huge wall aquarium - proper good! Now sat in the club lounge indulging in the free beer & food on offer for lunch - bring it on!!! Our rooms are fabulous - huge bed in the middle of the room and a bath twice the size of a normal bath also in the middle of the room. Loads of sitting areas outside with chaise longues for
sunset watching - only problem is we have fat lad as a neighbour on an adjoining balcony!!!!!! The view from our bed this morning, looking out over the sea and huge Limestone rocks was amazing.The negative was Big Bird dressed only in a short towel on the balcony next to me!!!
All the rooms are spread out around the limestone cliff backdrop - but you don't walk anywhere - you hail a golf buggy to take you wherever you want to go (all of a 2min walk!!!!) - which hoppy absolutely loves given her dodgy leg - ps she's off the crutches at last, she's hobbling around like an old lady but it's great to see her finally walking again, guess we need to drop the hoppy name now !
we're off sea kayaking this afternoon then off into Ao Nang to bother the locals tonight - we're here for 7 days before we head back to Bangkok so no doubt you'll hear from us again - we've free internet access but the photo upload is really really really slow - and yes we did finally work out how to use our new camera Sticky - by the way -

Glad to see that the backpacking tour of the world continues!!! This sounds just like my own wee tour of thailand - apart from the bed in the middle of the room, bath in the middle of the room, chaises lounges buggy ride - get the picture(maybe I should have paid more than 75p for the beach shack!) I will be galdly doing the fashion critic thing - to enable me to keep a tally on how many layers the princess managed to to squeeze into her (and carl's bag)!. Bird flu coming along nicely. Boiler finaly finished so bring on the cold weather (snug as a bug). Better head off with a couple of tissues to clean up Jingo. For some reason after reading your journal he is now sat rocking in the corner of the room mumbling something about life and over, nappies and no more beer tours. Can't think what is bothering him? We will be back on the scene next year and he can have the brat attached to his back - party on!! Take care and type soon. The Jessup's
