hello all, hope everybody is well. we are two weeks into our travels and it feels like home is a life time away! We left Bangkok and caught a night train to Chaing Mai which is a really nice city surrounded by stunning mountains. We spent an amazing day doing a guided tour. We hiked through the jungle to a waterfall, visited a hill tribe, rode an elephant and then rafted down a river in torrential rain on nothing but a few sticks of bamboo - minus a life jacket or any safety precautions! it was amazing though. one of the best days so far. We then caught a flight down south to Phucket and stayed on Patong beach for a few days. we met a Burmese 19 yr old waiter there who ended up taking us clubbing with all his mates on the scariest road i have ever seen! i had a fairly disturbing experience with some lady boys and i have never seen so many prostitutes in one place! i was terrified! it was a good night though. ive never been clubbing in flip flpops before! So after chilling out on the beach for a few days in gorgeous
weather we caught the ferry to ko Phi Phi the most beautiful place i have ever seen. unfortunatly there was torrential rain during the crossing and just about everybody was sick- it was horrendous, never again will i moan about the ferry to france! anyway its is amazing here. yesterday rained for most of the day but today it is beautiful. Ko phi phi was badly damaged by the tsunami and is still rebuilding itself, but it really is paradise. so we will spend a few days here in our little beach hut and then i am not quite sure what our plans are next. Maybe Malaysia, maybe a few more island around here. We will write again soon, hope everything is ok at home, lots love to all. xxx
