As we pulled out of Hua Lamphong (Bangkok Train Station) we knew we had booked a overnight sleeper train but were having some trouble wondering where the hell the beds were. So around 2 hours into our journey we prepare our self for an uncomfortable night sat on any old train seat, until a man in a uniform come round and turfs us out our seats and starts fiddling around with something on the ceiling that looks like a overhead storage compartment on a plane. 30 seconds later and he's pulled a bed out the train ceiling and converted 2 seats in a lower bunk...things seem to be looking up! Although that didn't mean we got much sleep...Sal got a good 5 hours although she says otherwise!

From the train we got a straight transfer to the port where we continued for about 2 hours on a ferry round Thai islands which was absolutely beautiful! A comfortable air-con cabin and 30+ deg on deck while watching the greens and blues of the Gulf of Thailand and bright rainforest of the islands.

When we arrived at Koh Phangan we were a greeted by maybe 50 screeching Thais all shouting "Taxi" and pointing at people! This was quiet ammusing and was hilarious when a 6 foot + american body builder yelled at back telling them to "shut the fxxk up" which only made them scream louder! When we got to our resort these pics were the first view we saw after we walked through reception...unbelievable! The place itself was a little rough round the edges but a 25m pool, private beach and you're own little cottage for your room wasn't too bad for 10 quid a night.

The next 3 days we spent underwater doing our PADI scuba diving qualification which was great (apart from the 5 'exams' we had to do and the 3 hours of theory). These are the pics which i think speak for them selves...

Now after a meal at the night market we move on to Koh Samui and see what awaits us there...
