Phew!!! Made it out of Bangkok alive. The whole time we spent there we were longing for an exotic beach and a less hectic environment. The train journey from Bangkok to Phuket was long and tiring, and we were glad when we finally made it to the island of Koh Pha Ngan. We were immediately impressed with the isle and couldn't wait to meet up with Jamie and Kazza. When we arrived at our resort we kind of realised it may be quite away from the direct action, but this later proved to a bonus, as we could chill and enjoy some quieter eve's.
We were impressed with our beach bungalow as we discovered that we had been upgraded to a deluxe bungalow which was nicely presented. (funny little Orchid flowers every where!) The resort was nice and secluded and had a nice swim pool and free table tennis and pool facilities. We found the staff to be good and most couldn't do enough for you. We also during our stay here managed to acquire a pet cat called Eagle, who always slept on our porch which Jo fed bacon to everyday after breakfast. Bloody Typical! We were well pleased to

LEFT SIDE: Jamie, ME, JO, Brian (Irish Guy),
RIGHT SIDE: Nick (Canadian Guy), Kazza, Kate (Canadian Girl), Amanda (Irish Girl) meet up with Jamie and Kazza and we spent adges catching up and hearing their tales. The first night we caught a taxi to Haad Rin to scope out the place in preperation for the Sunday session. We also managed to meet up with some cool guys from Canada that Jamie and Kazza met in Cambodia, and strangely enough we also bumped into an Irish couple that we had met on one eve in Bangkok when we were on a bender. So we had a little group thing going and constantly met up with everyone for drinks and meals and chatted and played some real cool drinking games to real early hours in preperatiojn for the BIG ONE!!!
Judgement day had arrived, and we thought we would get out and about early in the day and rent scooters to tour the isle. Jo was obsessed with hiring her own scooter but i knew this was not such a good idea, i proved to be right when she nearly sent the bike into a bush on a test run. Anyway the scooter hiring was cool and the four of us travelled all round the isle checking out remote areas and really

Likes Bacon and Ham!!!
Sleeps on the porch all day to hide from the big dogs!!! cool beaches. The hire of the scooter was 200 Baht which is well cheap.
WOW!!!! The evening was upon us, and we all met up at our resort for pre drinks and games of pool and table tennis. Things were off to a good start and we all got a taxi to Haad Rin which was absolutely buzzin. We had slowly seen the population of the isle increase over the past few days but all of a sudden their was big influx of ravers and the place was heaving. We decided we did not trust the drink sellers on the stalls as the bottles of vodka and whiskey were opened and probably watered down! So we decided to purchase plastic buckets (sandcastle buckets) with our own concoctions and mixers from the local 7-11 stores. This proved a good move and certainly did the job! M1-50 is absolutley fantastic and is only sold here as i think its illegal everywhere else, as its like a majorly strong redbull. Anyway this stuff kept us going til 8 in the morning. We spent most of our time at Orchid Bar as this was playing pumping old skool and drum and base. It was bliss listening to the classic old skool tunes watching the sun come up whilst observing the state of some fellow ravers. We considered the after party as the M1-50 was still in effect, but an English breakfast appeared more appealing to most. We chilled out for the rest of the day and i had a proper Thai massage to relieve the aches and pains from the previous night and proved to do the trick.
Our little crewe dispursed the next day as all the guys headed off on their own adventures! It was real sad to say goodbye to Jamie and Kazza as we had a good laugh and spent some qaulity time with them. I think they were sad to be going home more than anything as they had well and truly fitted into the backpackers lives. Jamie gave us the best bit of advice ever and qouted "Just remember when things get bad and times feel shitty; its just a story for another time!" Wise old Jamie was spot on as proved at a later adventure, but more on that later.
We spent our last night in Haad Rin on our own and got the ferry to Koh Samui the following morinig. Read on for the next installment. Over and out!
PS - Real bad news! the throw away camera that we used to take pics of the full moon party was damaged in a power cut in Koh Samui when we went to get it developed and they could not restore any of the pics. I was not happy as there was some cool pics and good memories. An especial soz to Jamie and Kazza who were looking forward to seeing the pics! : (
