Well the time has finally come to depart from the refuge. One of the workers at the refuge needed to go to Chiang Rai so we decided we may as well make use of the free ride and move on. For this leg of our journey however we have gained a third Dangleberry, his name is George 'Chip' Harrison and he's from Deep South Alabama. However don't hold that against him, he may love his Kentucky Bourbon but he's still up for a bit vino with his pizza, beer with his pool and margarita's in the afternoon.
As you can probably tell from the pictures we used our time in Chiang Rai to relax and do pretty much nothing other than eat and drink, the three of use were so keen for pizza and wine after the refuge that we found ourselves sitting in an Italian restaurant at about 11:30am waiting to order (they didn't open until 12). It was funny as the food at the refuge wasn't bad; it was just the thought of something different. Who would have believed we would ever call pizza an indulgent luxury, it tasted so good at the time but in hindsight it
Make that three
It's amazing how much nicer things taste when you haven't had them for a while!! wasn't even that good.
There are lots more photos, but these are filled with debauchery, drunkeness and nudity; and we know how everybody hates that.
We stayed in Chiang Rai for 2 nights before heading on to the Lao border crossing at Chiang Khong by bus.
