Hey All,

You dont know the effort that I ahve just made to get here and write this blog. It is absolutly POURING it down! I am now drenched but it is a nice change to the 35+ degrees heat that we have had every day so far! Went to the swimming pool this morning in the blistering heat which was soooo refreshing. We had the whole pool to ourselves so it was lovely. Just been to the Royal temple which holds a recling buddha (laying down) made out of gold which is around 30m long. Been to lots of other temples this week which have been interesting as our tour guide (who is hilarious) tells us all the history, rituals etc. Think I may get a little bored of temples by the end of this week though!

Yesterday was amazing, we went to Atthayu which is the former capital of Bangkok, here we went on a sight seeing tour around the capital and looked at the old temples (again), but they were great to see and quite impressive! After this we went on an elephant ride around the city which was an amazing experience, yet a little scary. You have to climb up an elephant ladder to get onto the elephant and then it takes you along the river bank, very close to the edge and I kept on thinking that the elephant was going to misplace his foot. paid for a great picture when on the elephant so that will be a great memory! After this we travelled to the elephant sanctuary where elephants are saved from captivity, it agian was amazing. We got to feed and shower the baby elephants. I also got a kiss off a big elephant, so sloppy lol. I kept on trying to feed the tiny elephant (only a couple of weeks old) but its big bully sister kept on pushing it out of the way :-(

Finally to finish off the day we went on a dinner cruise along the river which was lovely, and we got MEAT! Our eco house is strictly vegetarian so everything is rice or noodles with either vegetables, egg or tofu. It is all gorgeous food but I do miss fish and meat (didnt think i would ever say that!). having rice for breakfast, dinner and tea can be a bit boring at times.

At the weekend we have planned to go to the waterfalls, as weekends are free time. they are about a three-four hour drive away but are apparently 100% worth it as you can swim in them and climb them aswell.

The eco house is really nice but rather basic, there are 6 of us to a room with bunk beds and one bathroom to share arghhhhh! trust me 6 girls sharing a bathroom is not easy, plus we also have resident gheccos in our bathroom too. The house is set in gorgous grounds, with wild flowers, butterflies etc which is all very peaceful. The locals have made a bar across the raod which is next to the river so it is lovely at night. I keep on thinking an elephant will walk past.

I have to apologise but i ahve again forgot my camera cable, so sorry! I will put it in my bag tonight and then i have no excuse!

Speak soon,

xxx
