Hello guys, we are back in Thailand and heading to Ko Chang on a bus. We arrive at the ferry point and it took 2 hours to reach the island. It was dark when we jumped off the songthaew at lonely beach and we started wandering down a street trying to find some accommodation. We stopped by a family eating dinner and ask if they have any rooms, they take us to a back room type room and I immediately say no way to Craig. We were then shown to a hut where we dropped our bags and took a cold shower and headed off for food. The next day we changed rooms and stayed at the sunflower. We walked to the beach which was five mins away and it was the most smallest and over populated beach I have ever seen. The next day we rented a scooter and drove south and found a quiet beach which was beautiful. We sunbathed for a few hours and then headed back so Craig could watch the football at the pub. By this time Joe had arrived on the island and was staying a few beaches north of us so we arranged for

Lonely beach him to come meet us the next day. Again we frequented lonely beach with Joe in Tow and Craig lost his millionth towel of the trip. It was our last day on Koh Chang so we headed to Ting Tong to catch the Newcastle match. We had a few buckets and watched the football and wandered down to the party on the beach. Craig and Joe climbed the lifeguard tower whilst I rowed by boat full of our free drinks. In the early hours we headed back to our hut for a few hours kip before a songthaew, ferry and bus back to Bangkok.
Again in Bangkok and Khaosan Road had not changed in the slightest since we were last there 3 months ago. We checked into the overpriced Khao san Palace hotel, where we realised that the prices had changed by 200 baht per room, but we were tired and had things to sort out so we booked and dropped our bags. We headed off to book transport to Koh Samui where we wanted to spend Christmas. The booking offices were chocker and they said people had to put extra buses to accommodate the amount of people wanting

Sunset lonely beach to head south. We got booked on an overnight bus for the next day. This bus was not like the Vietnamese buses but a regular coach with upright seats. Both I and Craig were feeling a little fed up so we decided to have our very first McDonalds of the trip. Not bad going since we had now been gone for 6 months. We were full up after mc d’s but got ourselves an ice-cream to cheer us up. We spent the next day shopping and I bought myself a new top for New Years Eve and we booked ourselves onto a PADI Open Water Diving course with Buddha View Diving School. Now those who know me know I do not like salt water anywhere near my face so I was not sure if I would end up completing it but Craig was really looking forward to it.
We arrived on Koh Samui on the 23rd of December and settled into The Samui Mermaid on Big Buddha Beach for Christmas. The room was nice and we had hot water and a TV yet every hour or so plans would almost land on our roof. As I type this we
are back in the Samui Mermaid and a plane has made me jump out of my skin. Anyway, we are situated at the end of the runway and hear every damn plane taking off and landing from early morning to late at night. We hired a scooter for 3 days and got it at discounted rate. It was a brand new Honda scooter and the lady made it clear that we had to take care of it as she had just picked it up. We dotted about the island and went to the beach at Chaweng and bought our Christmas presents for each other.
I woke up early on Christmas day and looked at Craig at which point he opened his eyes. I jumped up and got Craig’s presents which were wrapped in plastic bags and tinsel. We exchanged presents and played connect 4 were I won the competition. Craig got a pair of shorts, dairy milk, a roll on and cool waters spritz. I got of Santa connect 4, two bracelets and a Pandora charm. We hopped on our scooter and were off to Bophut beach. We parked at Fishermans village and walked along looking for somewhere to
have crimbo dinner. Now everywhere was so overpriced so we ended up having a burger and chips and an English breakfast in an English pub. The food was great so we didn’t mind not having turkey, sprouts ect. We lazed on the beach till the sun went down and headed back to the runway. We got a shower and headed off to skype home. I got to see my bro n Rebecca, the kids, my Nan, Lyns n Chris, Aud, Mam and Dad and Jasper n Archie. I was chuffed. Craig got to see his sis, mam n Ethan. On our way back we stopped off at a bar called cocktails and had a drink and played pool, and that was our first Christmas away from home.
