I decided to get a tattoo!! In Thailand, they do them traditionally, they are called bamboo tattoos. They are hand done, rather than using a machine so they take a lot longer but the lines on them are a lot finer and they don't bleed and heal quicker.
I thought about going for something small, but I felt brave so I went for something huge! It took 5 hours to complete but it's ace - I love it : )
It hurt quite a lot when I was having it done - as to be expected when somebody is shoving needles into my back for 5 hours. But it didn't bleed wasn't sore at all afterwards - amazing. The man was called Wee and he had been tattooing this way for 24 years, he was really nice, gave us beers and watermelon on our breaks. His girlfriend helped by holding my skin still while he tattooed and she stroked my head when it got a bit much for me!
Matt's flip flops. well, first, I'd better give a bit of background. He didn't bring any flipflops, so he had to buy some. He spent a few days thinking about
and deciding and bought some which turned out to be really uncomfy. So he moaned and moaned and looked in lots of shoe shops and eventually bought some sandals. Which were comfy but fell apart. So he looked in lots more shops, then bought some black flipflops. Which sometimes were ok and sometimes he moaned about them a lot. (And looked in lots more shoe shops) But most of the time they were ok.
So, we went out for tea and you have to take your shoes off before you go in anywhere. On the way home, Matt noticed his flipflops felt wierd, he looked and they were a size 11. His were 11.5. He had put the wrong flip flops on. So he moaned a lot, because a, it was gross and b, he had to break in another pair of flipflops. The next day we were on the beach and we walked past the place we had been for tea. There was some black flipflops outside, and they were Matt's!! Matt was very happy so we walked back to town and went for my tattoo. It took 5 hours, so Matt went and got a beer from
the shop (where you also have to take your shoes off) On the way back, he again noticed his flip flops felt wierd. He chacked the size - these were a size 12! He went back, but his flipflops were gone.
The size 12 flipflops were too big, so today, we have been into lots of shoe shops. He found some he liked, so he bought them. I thought they looked too small, he thought they were ok. We got back to our guest house - they are too small and made the top of his foot swell up because they are so tight.
So, tomorrow. we are going into lots of shoe shops. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
