After leaving Kanchanaburi behind, we decided that Ayuttaya (Thailands old capital) would be our next destination.
We have been staying at a really lovely hotsel called HI AYUTTAYA, which is located on the quieter side of town. It is really peaceful here and we are lovin getting to play around with the owners X4 8-10 week old kittens who are definalty not shy, and think its a game to follow you around and play with your feet...
The rooms here are AWESOME... not only do we get air-con, we also get warm showers (which is a first) and wait for it ..... Satellite TV too!!!!!
On arrival we were both really hungry, so we ventured out to the locals favourite restaurant which is situated on decking literally 50 yards away from land and 2 metres above the river. You had to walk across very thin gang planks just to get there. The food was amazing, they had just about every kind of seafood on the menu from crocodile to pirana...Rik was in heaven!!!
The city of Ayutthaya is really famous for its ancient temples which date back 600 years ago plus.
We were both really intrigued, so we took a day tour in a TUK-TUK to see all 7.
We are currenlty back at the hostel waiting to get onto our 10 hour V.I.P night bus, which will take us all the way up north to Chang Mai.
Have heard awesome adventures about this place from our fellow backpackers and of course Lucy, so we're very excited.
We plan to stay at the 'Same Same Hostel' which is located in central Chang Mai...

We have managed to capture a picture of this very rare breed of monkey in its natural habitat...Only found in remote parts of Asia (usually where there is chocolate)!!!

Sun tanned and relaxed
Hi Guys, you two look great! really tanned and relaxed. I like your dress Onie and pleased you are enjoying the food. What you should do is a menu supplement so us poor folk in freezing UK can get a feel of what you are eating, and give it a try although I don't think they will sell Pirana in Tesco's some how. The monuments are terrific, the new camera is working well. Speak to you next time you can skype. until then take care of each other, love Mum x

What fantastic pictures guys. looks like you are having such a good time. The restaurant with crocodile sounds amazing. Have you got a new camara or are you taking the photo's with your phone? All is well at home. Sasha has gone to stay at uni with Jon until Sunday she's really well and they find out the sex of the baby on Monday, so we'll let you know. Jon has just bought a pschology book for £48 some of them are over £100 my next job is going to be an author of pschology books i think!! We are all really busy at work and i start my singing club tonight la la la la la la la!! Cathy Parker sends her love to you and so do the family, grandad and granny are well and auntie Julia and steve are in Gran Can as Jessica is turning 5! can't believe she's 5 already. Anyway we miss and love you but are so glad you are having such a great time hope to speak to you at the weekend we will look out for the email.
