I found myself back in Thailand,,, but where to go this time? It's a tough decision considering so many options available on my 'things to do list' while in Thailand. Depending on how many days you'd like to spend there, you do have a broad choices on where to go and where to stay. And all places in Thailand have it's own charm,,, at least I can guarantee that Thai people is one of d'kindest kind in human race history... and d'variation of d'food available is as tasty as my appetite to cruise d'countryside of this Budha's kingdom.
This time, I picked Ayyuthaya and Pitchabury as my highlight on this trip. Ayyuthata is about 2-3 hours drive, almost same distance as Pitchabury from Bangkok. And as I mention earlier, each place in Thailand has its own charm.
As dating Budha is always on my calendar everytime I come back in Thailand... so you will see lots of Budha's pictures in this section. Due to monsoon season during this period, I cant really go to the beach... but other than it's natural pristine beach, you can always find things to visit in thailand.
The things I love about Thailand
is, the food and the fruit. It always makes me longing to come back just because I miss the food and the fruit. I can just stroll the traditional market or night market to find my fave food'n'fruit, and it's enough to make my day with simple happiness.
In order to go to Ayyuthaya, you can book a day tour... and going to Pitchabury, from the southern bus terminal there's bus almost every hour leaving for Pitchabury. Southern bus terminal is a very big one and they also have tourist information service so you can always ask them for bus number etc. Or, if you plan to go direct to Pitchabury from the airport, you can take a shuttle bus at d'airport to go to airport bus terminal... and you'll find direct AC bus going to southern bus terminal for 40 bhat only. And the bus to Pitchabury cost around 110 bhat for more than 2 hours drive. The bus is really comfortable. Arriving in Pitchabury, you can walk to your hotel or guesthouse or go by taxi bike, also tuktuk is available in some place.
Pitchabury is a small town, so I enjoy walking exploring the city
by walk while visiting so many nice temples. Phranakorn (the old King's Palace), and the cave are my highlights while staying here. And the night market, really blossom my appetite with lots of food'n'fruit to die for. Also going to the beach about 30min-1hour away by renting a motorbike... having lunch there... is something to try. So what are you waiting for? Explore the diversity of Thailand,,, n you'll love it!
It would also be a good idea if you learn some basic Thai words, just to be able to do basic conversation with local people because most of them do not speak English. I didn't speak Thai at all, but I survived travelling alone in Thailand using my body language and calculator... :-) But i'm not a good example... I would highly recommend you to learn a bit of Thai, than your stay in Thailand would be a more memorable one...
See you in Kathmandu after Bangkok!
