Am writing this and am now in Beijing so a little behind will try not to be such a jackanory!
8am Breakfast ( this is suprising as so dont get up this early anymore!) Went to Kandy market/ Bazar the sweetist little guy started talking to us and took us aropund the market showing us wher the locals shop so we could save a bit of money (probably took us round his mates, cousins etc placesbut i thought he was cute) brought some scarfs and sarongs which dont really need suprise!
Back in our snooze mobil for 2 half hours to Ramboda 329ft waterfalls in the Hill Country, drew the short straw and had to sit in the front...white knuckle drive from hell! Stopped at The Glenloch Tea Factory where these ladies pick 20Kilos a day!!! for about 2 quid a day, showed us the tiresome process of it being selected, rolled, fermented and baked all in the same day! The best tea is from the leaves that are picked at highest ground!
Another 2 half hour journey to Nuwara Eliya where we went in with the locals and ate some somosas in
Sorting the tea
Lady sorting the tea for her 2 quid a day! the resaurant lots of stares but lovely food! We eventually stopped at Tea Garden Holiday Inn which was really beautiful had excellent views and hammock... we ate another cold curry!
SATURDAY 2nd AUGUST 2008
Simi and I heard the strangest noise just as we trying to go to sleep sounded like a some rather large animals running across our roof in the night...somuch so Burg came out of her room to see if we were being eaten alive...we could have been there were gaps everywhere!
Hit the road again travelled from Ella along the cost to Unawatuna. Saw soem horrific Tsunami damaged villages on the way makes you realise how lucky we all are.
Found a guest house with couple and their daughter who had survived the Tsunami luckily due to the fact that her husband was home the day it struck and saved them, she told us about her friend who had lost her daughter the same age.
We went to Galle and had a sneaky peak at the Test Cricket Sri Lanka Vs India we going to go tomorrow for the whole day...boring Ash with lots of cricket questions so we know all
the lingo!!! They let us in for free to have alook but its only RS300 2.25 quid how cheap!
Went to Unawatuna beach for our first dip in the sea the waves were massive! Poor Simi got washed over in 360 roll which left her a little out of her costume Gills nip nips!! Ash went to save her but then didnt know where to look, i was trying to tie up my bikini at the time and think i flashed the beaver poor Ash holiday with the girls!!!
SUNDAY 3rd AUGUST 2008
Ash not well after a dodgy meal last night on the beach so we sacked off the cricket and got the pharmacist to deliver drugs to save him. Us girls went to the local pool for a bit of bathing..so hot!
Found a wicked Roti Restaurant which served a variety of Rotis made with cheese, onions, mushrooms etc would be great business for UK.
Had lovely fresh Tiger Prawn dinner at the other end of the beach and lapped up a few cocktails wha hey!

Went out to a very local shack where we had Hoppers (Pancake with an egg in the middle) lovely! Had some mega hot samosas and spicy sauce!! Stopped at the local shop and found the funniest man who looked like Our Greg! Tea, beers and cake on the balcony...lots of card gams love it!

Lazy day of sunbathing on the beach which backs onto our hotel. Burg and Simi looking for massage...got good price on a massage this bloke was blatently a fisherman who wanted to earn a bit of money!!!!...he even ducked out of the way and hid when another bloke (probably the real massouse) came past...girls starting a turf war!!!
Watched the sunset at bar on the beach whislt the locals were playing bit of beach volleyball (they didnt even break a sweat...im sweating just watching!)
Had dinner at another Rott restaurant delicious...soaked up some
beers...stopped off at a local boys shop and played game of Carrum....got followed home by a real Hobo scabby Rabbie dog...bless x
WEDNESDAY 6th AUGUST 2008
Went on bus trip with the locals to Ambogoda looking for a mask shop hoping that we could paint some ourselves. Found a really sweet guy who picked us up in the street and took us around to the mask museum, all of them have historical meaning and are for good luck, good health and there was also a fire head (looked a bit like our Ash) so Burg brought one!! We also aquired another local who was a bit on the mad side (he looked like the Indian Joe Pesci...Leo Getts from Leathal Weapon..what a fruit loop!)
Bus trip showed more of the Tsunami damage was very shocking loads of graves, photos and memorials and lots of white and blue ribbons tried to where the people had died. There was so much destruction and even boats taht had been landed still there even after all this time. Had a little drinking session with a few drinking games...not like us
THURSDAY 7th AUGUST 2008
Took Tuc Tuc to Hikkaduwa
train station to head for Colombo didnt manage to get a seat on the rickety train for 2 half hour jouney so ended up sitting between carraiges vertually hanging out the doors...ended up filthy!
Checked into Blue Seas Guest House in Colombo with the funniest, smiliest manager in the world who so liked to talk!...He gave Ash the run down on the Hostel....not one, not two but three beds!....you dont turn left you turn right...it was long if you needed to ask a question!
Simi had to leave Boo Hoo! first sign of me being on my jack jones...i lost my roomy but unlucky for Burg and Ash they gained one!!!!

Lankan team photographer Herb!! He then made us sit in the VIP secxtion reserved for family and we were filmed and aired on Sky! Got chatting to the Indian coach (whose name i dont know) got an autograph he told me to keep on smiling...little did he know the smiles were gas from all the beer i hgad drunk!!!
On the way home we got a Tuc Tuc to The Galle Face Hotel which was very swish...there was an Indian wedding goiing on so we stopped off for a cocktail...my anuty aags genes kicked in and took photos of wedding!!! There were some models strutting around so we did our best to do a bit of strutitng too, might of got in the way of some of their cat walks oops..what a bitch!
