This is the view at night (notice the neon crosses on the churches!)
After a very long flight we arrived an Incheon Airport in Seoul. We got through immigration without a hitch, which was great because I had envisioned some miscommunication where we would be held and not be able to understand why (ok I'm crazy). We were greeted when we exited the luggage area by 4 enthusiastic hands waving (Make fun of our shirts all you want Ben, they served their purpose!). We were greeted by Helen Jang and Jackie Lee who work in the Admin office. They were so sweet and friendly. We were the first to arrive (noon their time) so we had to wait around for the others to arrive before we could load the bus. It was a crazy time of introductions and the realities of jet lag started kicking in, I was so tired by the time we finally boarded the bus at 7:00 for our 2 hour drive to Daejon (its is spelt both Daejon and Taejon depending on how old your document is). The highlight was stopping at a rest stop and going to the bathroom in a "squatty potty", a porcelin hole in the floor. When we finally arrived at the school, there was someone

to meet each person and take them to their appartment. Darren was so nice, he even went back to the truck to pick up a couple of our bags that didn't get delivered. We had been up for almost 24 hours by that point, and were so thankful that someone had put sheets on the bed for us. It was a great way to beat jet lag - we were so exausted that we managed to sleep most of the night - even when we woke up, we were able to turn over and fall right back to sleep.
We are so pleased with our appartment, so I have enclosed some pictures of it so you can get a peak at where we live. Besides the fact that all the appliances have Korean writing on them so you have to memorize what each button does, it has all the comforts of home except a dishwasher (unless you count Steve of course!). I apologize for the topless picture of Steve - we don't have air conditioning (which all of the Americans can't comprehend!) so we get pretty sweaty. We are settling in nicely, missing all of you as we do.
