We spent May and June packing and preparing to vacate our apartment in Kaohsiung and leave Taiwan. What a fabulous 3 years we spent living in and learning about a different culture. Namdaemun Market is the largest market in Korea and is filled with countless shops and street stalls. They line the alleys, selling clothes, household items and food. This market is famous for it low prices and hospitality.

This was an example of what the vendor does to prompt people to come and buy from his stall. He had the crowds laughing BUT also shopping from his bins.

Standing 2367m tall is the N Seoul Tower. We took took the cable car from Namsan Park to the base of the tower, then the elevator up to the top of the N Seoul Tower just as the sun was setting.

Notice the cables. Our car could easily carry 30 people as we rose or descended.

On each window was the name of a city or 2 and how far away it was. Notice Vancouver? It was magical to see the lights of Seoul come on.

Our guide was delightful! She took a liking to Linda and spoke freely with her as we strolled from building to building learning about the Gyeongbokgung Palace. This was a view looking back at the entrance to the palace area.

King Taejo had 3 dragons painted on the ceiling of the reception hall. They were to stand as his guards forever. They are still in existence. Notice the brilliant colors.

Here we pose with some passing high school girls. The new trend is to dress in traditional garb and be photographed with others. The students were gracious and grateful.

This broad elongated square was across from the Gyeongbokgung Palace. The flowers were stunning and the walk up to the palace from was grand.

In downtown Seoul a 10.84k stream has been created on order for people to relax and enjoy nature. In 2005 it was transformed into an ecological park. It claims 22 bridges that shine under fantastic lighting.
