Daranak Falls nestles quietly at the foot of the Tanay mountains, preserved with the natural vegetation, complemented with beautiful waterfalls, ponds, and rivers cascading through elaborate tropical trees and plants. This 14-meter high falls is truly a refreshing site. A short walk over the top of Daranak are smaller, cascading streams known as Batlag Falls. It is located at Bgy. Tandang Kutyo in the town of Tanay. The place has been transformed into a public park/resort operated by the government.
It was raining when we got there. It was the typhoon that hit Real, Quezon and other parts of Rizal. We were lucky that we went home safely.
It was almost a 2-hour trip from Jeric's house. We hired a jeep, so i can't elaborate more on getting-there tips.
We paid for an entrance of Php30.00 each. We arrived, at about, 7am, and there were already cars parked outside, which means that they stayed overnight in the falls. You can rent for picnic huts around the area. Better bring food, as there are no stores inside the area. Staying overnight, means you have to bring your own tent to sleep.
