Typical Breakfast Fare

Corned beef , sold mostly in cans, makes for a typical meal. Eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This "american influence" extends to hot dogs, potato fries, spam or luncheon meat and bacon.

Bangus or Milkfish

The national fish is bangus or milkfish, cooked either grilled (with tomatoes and onions stuffing), butterflied and fried, or stewed in some sour broth. Most restaurants serve this dish.

Most Filipino or Pinoy dishes are cooked with garlic. Our local lemon is smaller in size, green in color, and flavors many of our dishes too.

Great write-up! Bistek and adobo still make my mouth drool thinking of them. And the fast food chains in the Philippines have some of the most creative, tasty and healthy 'fast food' I've ever come across. A joy to visit

Crab, Up Close
Nice shot. :) I indulge in, occasionally. But it should be with vinegar & lots of garlic, which they say, moderates the cholesterol.

Hungry!
I was just thinking of writing about the different local food that one can enjoy in the metro. I feel bad whenever I see shows on TV that feature Asian food yet food from the Philippines isn't included! Anyway, reading this made me so hungry! Now I want some puto bumbong.
