Sitting in the airplane waiting to take off
Hello everybody, at last we reach our destination in the Phillipines after an exhausting trip of 23 hours. In addition we (I) had to be in the air (over India) when Liverpool played against Real Madrid. So the first thing I did in Singapore airport was to check the result. And you can all guess that the trip further on went good. 4-0 ; would any of you believe that?
So we landed on the international airport of Davao. The size like an average airport in Sweden. Four docs and one belt for luggage. Then the obligatory line for Passport, check of luggage and finally; coming out in the "fresh" air. Like always in Asia the heat and humidity hits you like a slap in the face. 31 dgr. and like rain in the air. Our guide did wait for us like a swiss clock. He had a car, well it use to be a car back in the old days. In our countries you would not be able to even get a wreckmoney. Anyway the purpose with a car is to take you from A to B; and it did! Before we got here we were told that from the

airport to the Projecthouse it was 25 km. They even told us that it could take an hour and a half. Strange we thought, but now we know. It started fairly good with streetstandard like in provincearea of Spain, but than it got worse. And after that it got bad. And we have not reach our goal yet. So another few kilometer of gravel and stone we finally drowe up to the Projecthouse; in the middle of the jungle. We stepped out of the car and like in Hawaii we got greeted like familymembers with beautiful necklesses and a poster telling us how welcome we were. Of course I had to inspect the buildingstandard; and of course I find several points of improval; but thats a different story. It this point we only wanted to find our beds an sleep for some 100 hours...And we did.....not. Every two hours we waked up and at 03.00 Berit wanted to go up.
Today we was picked up by our guide; EmEm. He drowe us through more jungle to visit a school renovated by Mariphil last year. The children was so polite and happy to see us. Also two of Aramis/Denglers godchildren did go to that school and was precent at the moment we visit them. Later today we are going to visit some godchildren at their families. Very interesting! At the moment we are sitting at an internetcafe, one of the oly one in this area; 10 km away from the house (45 min)
It's raining (or extreamly high humidity) but it's still over 30 dgr.
We hope to come back with a new report tomorrow!
Regards from Berit and Alf
