Early rise of 8am; yawn! Jumped in a Geepney from Mambajao to Benoni port where we boarded our 45 minute ferry to Baligoan, it was a bit of a panic to get to the ferry port on time as the Geepney kept stopping but we made it on time as the boat didn't leave till 30 minutes later than advertised. We arrived at Baligaon port and it was peeing it down (soaked to the skin kind of rain) We hired an umbrella man to take us to the bus terminal ( yep a man paid to hold an umbrella) We jumped on a bus for 2 hours and arrived in Cagayan fade Oro at around 3.30pm. The usual mob of taxi & tricycle drivers greeted us shouting "Airport & Port?" de kindly refused their services and found a Geepney to Mc Donald's where we new we would find wifi, aircon, clean toilets and fast safe cooked food whilst we searched for accomodation.Found somewhere reasonably priced for two days then headed to a shopping complex we had passed earlier, we spent 2 days eating western food and going to the cinema and just doing normal London things (It seemed a little bizarre compared to the poverty.
