Philipines in July

Hi! I am tavelling in the Philipines for the next 5 weeks - wet season i know. But my question is if anyone knows an island/area that is "less wet" during this period? my plan was to go to Palawan in the beginning of July. Is that a good/bad idea? Right now I am at Boracay which is amazing but fairly wet. I'm not only looking for full days at the beach, but also want to spend time exploring the culture and nature of the islands. I am open for any good advices!
