Chitwan

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

Hier sind wir mal wieder! Wir hoffen, Euch geht es allen gut und Ihr habt schon Zeit gefunden unseren Blog anzuschauen!

Vor ca. einer Woche haben wir uns das letzte Mal bei Euch gemeldet. Da waren wir noch in Kathmandu! Es war eine wirklich tolle Zeit und wir haben viel gesehen und erlebt.

Am 15.04.07 haben wir uns dann entschieden nach Chitwan zu fahren. Das liegt im Sueden von Nepal. Es ist hauptsaechlich ein riesengrosser Nationalpark. Landschaftlich ist es gepraegt von Urwald - das heisst gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanz viel Gruen! Es sieht fantastisch aus, ist aber auch sehr heiss und feucht!

Sind also frueh aufgestanden und sind ca. 5 Stunden mit einem lokalen Bus gefahren. Sie sind klein und klapprig (Adrian passt ueberhaupt nicht in die Sitze rein... :-)
Das Hotel da unten war echt nett - es liegt direkt am Park.

Die naechsten 2 Tage waren also gepraegt von ganz viel Natur, Landschaft und Tieren!! Aber zuerst haben wir ein Einheimischen-Dorf besucht, das sehr interessant war. Es ist faszinierend, wie viele Traditionen ueber die Jahrhunderte bestehen bleiben!

Ausserdem stand noch auf dem Program:
- Sonnenuntergang am Fluss mit Blick auf Urwald (romantisch)
- Elefanten Aufzuchtstation (Super suess)
- Bad mit Elefanten im Fluss (Super klasse)
- Kanufahrt und Dschungle-Tour (mit direktem Kontakt zu freilebenden Nashorn - das war spannend)
- Elefanten-Ritt durch Urwald (irgendwie entspannend)
Alles im allem tolle Tage!!!!

So, das war es jetzt erst einmal wieder von uns!

Dear all,

Here we are again! We hope you are fine and you have alreay found the time to check out our Blog!!!

Approx. one week ago we wrote our last entry. At this time we were still in Kathmandu! It was really a great time and we saw and experienced quite a lot!

On April 15th we decided to go to Chitwan. Chitwan is placed in the south of Nepal. It is a huge National Park in the middle of the jungle. That means it is greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen all over the place :-) It looks amazing, but it is very hot and humid as well!

The next morning we had to get up at 5am to catch the local bus to Chitwan. The local busses are really small and old (Adrian does not even fit in the seats... :-) But the Hotel down there was really nice - it is located directly next to the park.

The next 2 days we spent in the jungle and saw a lot of nature, beautiful sceneries and wild animals. But first we visited a small trible village. It is fascinating how old traditions can survive over the course of centuries.

Some of the other highlights of our jungle-program included:
- Sunset at the river with jungle view (very romantic)
- Elephant breeding station (very cute)
- Elephant bathing in the river (great experience)
- Kajak tour on the river and jungle walk (direct contact with wild rhinoceros - truly exciting and a bit scary as well)
- Elephant ride through the jungle (kind of relaxing - somehow)
All-in-all a great couple of days!!
