at the height of 4200. Travelling the only way to rediscover yourself, your true identity. It's a moment of peace to renergise yourself from all the tensions, frustrating lifestyle.
Recently I have been to Mardi Himal base camp at the altitudes of 4500 m. It was a five day long journey. At first we started our trek from lumbre.
I have been to many places but this one is so interesting. I managed my time to reflect myself at the flowing water from the streams. It was water full of rejoice. Water full of passion to let you know that you are alive. The cool water kissing my soul which was withered by scorching rays of sun made me to enjoy the glimpse of nature.
The sanctity of nature is so vast even the creator will be lost in its own creation.
While travelling we came to know about the vegetation and some flowers. The forest was covered by the gracefulness and delicacies of rhododendron. The jungle so deep even the mighty sun couldn't penetrate its rays into it. It was so thrilling. Even if some of the rays managed to enter almighty jungle, it was sucked up.
We stayed at low
the flowing water
at its natures best camp on our second day. All tired, all restless but still there was this spark within us that crucified this tiredness. We even sang for more than an hour before having our dinner.
Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder but its nature that made our eyes to give chance to see these vivid world. So we don't need to look for the perfect angle to observe its beauty. It just happens.
On Third day we started our day with the hail rain. It was so frustrating. We had to reach high camp and we were unable to move. Then after the drizzle rain we started to pursue our destination. We walked around 11 km to reach higher camp. While walking even a glimpse of a mountain and an open area made us feel so light and thrilling.
Then we went to bheda goth(cattle rearing) to buy a sheep so that we can fulfil our dreadful hunger. More than thousand Sheep were there and all we could hear was bhyaa bhyaa(typical sound of a sheep). One of the exciting prospect was we couldn't buy sheep but the person was so understandable that he quenched our thirst with the
sheep milk. We were at the altitude of 3800m. These men were rearing cattle for their living. We could see hardly 4 people in that place. We had our chit chat and then left for the high camp.
We were all tired. It was midnight I wasn't asleep. All of my friends were dreaming but I could hear the strange sound from the backyard. I was totally unaware of the situation but I heard strange voice again. Now I began to panic as I was totally by myself like a poor helpless creature. I could even hear the breathing. This hotel was under construction and it had an open access even the fiercest of fierce could have an easy pass through that. I woke up everybody and told something doesn't add up in this place. They could also hear these sounds now. I informed the hotel person and he told easily that it could be Ghoral or any other wild animals. I and my friend went outside to check with our flashlight and all we could see was four pairs of green luminescent eyes. The hotel manager came outside and we went near these eyes. Guess what? It was this
stupid Buffaloes who have frightened us to our grave. But these scarily thing came on purpose I guess. No one would have got such an opportunity to look at the majestic mountain at 12 am with sky so clear that we could imagine the constellation of our own. Somewhere we could see horse, somewhere the Angels and somewhere ourselves.
Even though it was midnight the mysterious mountain was echoing the mysteries of itself. It was like breathtaking. That speechless moment described its infinite eternity. Time seems to have lost its consciousness. Stars seem to be the only friend that was by the side of the great Himalaya (Himalchuli). It was priceless. And the frightening became the excitation and the amazement.
The next day was to Mardi Himal base camp. Full of imagination of what would be the base camp be like? Wished there would be snow and on walking we were dreaming of snow, building snowman, witnessing the true facets of the nature. While walking on we could see the symbol blue and white paint which means we are in the right track. While walking we lost the sense of our direction. My friend Arjun and Yurika were slightly ahead
of us and I just gave a signal to wait for others. We called each others name with our full strength and the mountains replied same to us much mightier and much intense than what we shouted.
I and Ashmita were lost. I went back to the top and shouted “Pandey Pandey”and all I could hear was the same name repeating like a never ending loop. Suddenly we could hear someone shouting. Finally we were able to correct our sense of direction and reached base camp.
Expectation flushed away and reality was in front of our eyes. As I expected snow, there was nothing like that. Instead there were heaps of rocks, rocks without snow -Black and Grey.
The view of mountain was majestic and magical. I ran to my fullest just to feel the fresh air, felt the earth and was so emotional. It was as if Mother Nature was summoning us just to feel the gorgeous panoramas.
Now our destination was nothing else but back to normal life. As the excited state of electron when loses its energy returns to its meta-stable state and finally to its stable form. We the exited form of our boring life
were returning to high camp and finally to our homes.
From this trek what have I learned is not to create fantasies in the world that is already extraordinary instead, enjoy the nature, its life.
