Annapurna Classical Trek

The Annapurna Circuit trek is a true classic! Recognized as one of the world’s best trekking routes, this trek offers a stupendous array of natural beauty and mountain vistas. The circuit heads out counter clockwise and up to an elevation of 5416 meters; Thorong La Pass, a challenging place to reach but a great achievement well worth your efforts. The route takes us to the districts of Manang and Mustang, the only Nepali districts “across” the mountains and completely surrounded by the Annurpurna Range. We follow the River Marsyangdi from the beginning, all the way to Thorong La Phedi, crossing its crystal, icy waters many times on impressive suspension bridges.

The trek takes us through the windy valley of Jonsom, Nepal’s apple growing capital of Marpha and the world’s deepest gorge laying between the giants of Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri. Along the way, we visit the oldest monastery in Nepal and traditional Gurung and Thakali villages steeped in culture and Buddhist and Hindu religious rituals.



Itinerary:


Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu. (1345m.)

Day 2: Sightseeing and last minute preparations.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule. (840m.)

Day 4: Bhulbhule to Syange. (962m) Day 5: Syange to Dharapani. (1910m)

Day 6: Dharapani to Chame. (2670)

Day 7: Chame to Pisang. (3200)

Day 8: Pisang to Manang. (3540)

Day 9: Acclimatization day in Manang.

Day 10: Manang to Yak kharka. (4020m)

Day 11: Yak kharka to High Camp (4860m/) or Thorung Phedi. (4430m)

Day 12: High Camp/Thorung Phedi to Thorang-La Pass (5416m) and on to Muktinath. (3800m)

Day 13: Muktinath to Kagbeni. (2800m) Day

14: Trek from Kagbeni to Jomsom (2720m) and drive by local vehicle to Tatopani. (1190)

Day 15: Tatopani to Ghorepani. (2850)

Day 16: Trek to Poon Hill (3210m) then trek to Nayapul (1070) and drive to Pokhara. (820m)

Day 17: Free day and late afternoon flight to Kathmandu.
