The train from Irkutsk to Ulanbatur were the lats days on Russian grounds. On the border with Mongolia we had to wait several hours; this was not only because of the pasport checks. Some mechanical changes to the train (rails) had to be done as well because Russia has its own specific railings for reasons that go back to WOII.

Once arrived in Ulanbatur we (Roman, Slovakia and Luis, Spain - guys I met on the train) checked out the city centre.
UB is a nice city but rather small for a capital (ofcourse coming from SPB, Moskou,...). In one day you can walk around and visit the main spots (if you're not visiting any museums)..

In the evening we checked the night life in UB. There are some cool places and almost all have live music. We went to the Irish pub where there is a nice mix of tourists and local people. There we met 2 mongolian guys, whereas one was a former national wrestling champion... we were in good hands! All together we went to a local disco (River Sounds) where we shaked our asses on both local and international music (in the end we didn't notice the difference anymore). They warned us before that it's not so safe to go out in the centre...and yes, it's better you don't go alone. Especially if you're having fun with to the local girls, you get eyebolled a lot by the local macho drunks😊
