For our final few days on Langkawi we have been staying at a place called Bon Ton, just chilling out by the pool and relaxing before going on to Singapore and then Aus. Bon Ton is a former coconut plantation which has been converted into a boutique resort. There's about 8 houses here that are all antique Malay houses, arranged around a pool and restaurant. Our house also fronts onto the lagoon. It really is a special place that is perfect for chilling out.
We've spent our time here relaxing by the pool, eating in their restaurant (Raymond Blanc has been here and said it was fab, so that's good enough for me!), and drinking cocktails on the balcony of our house... hmmm, fab.
We've also just been watching some extreme gardening in action - their gardener climbed up a 40ft coconut palm and hacked down a load of coconuts. D was amazed and has taken some video and photos. The guy has just sliced one open and D is munching his way through it at the mo... it's a shame I don't like coconut!
I'm curently writing this blog entry from the wine cellar in the restaurant.
It's quite cold in here but that's good because I'm surrounded by a fab collection of wines!!! hmmmm... very tempting!!!
I'll try and upload some photos of this place so you can see how gorgeous it is. Best go, cos I'm getting cold!!!
