Once upon a time only David Attenborough types could visit the rainforests of Borneo - but now with Air Asia everyone can fly... there. (on a side note I really like Air Asia and despite their reputation have never had a late flight yet - we are on to our third now). We were chuffed upon arriving in Kota Kinabalu - the capital of the semi-automonous Malaysian state on the island of Borneo -... Read Full Entry

We saw 5 of these but most darted before we could get a pic. I reckon this one was about 1m long. It was next to a croc which slipped into the water first.

Got round to it at last!!!!!!!
Hi guys, sounds like you're having a fab time. Out of curiosity have you seen any restaurants that sell dog yet? Thought you were planning on roughing it. Who are you 2? Since when was a penthouse classed as roughing it?????? Totally agree with Gabby re: Gareth taking up writing, how much time and effort has this taken? I'm not sure I'd even send an email, let alone a full on travel blog. I'm seriously impressed. Whose taken all the pics? Very impressive, some look like they were taken for a David Attenborough (how do you spell his last name???) show. Anyhow, going to sod off now and have a glass of wine. Started my wedding diet at last - lost 4lbs in my 1st week. In case your wondering what spurred me on it was after Grandad thought he was complementing me by saying I'd got fatter and looked better for it!!!! not what a gal wants to hear. Good on you gramps for kick starting the diet!!! Take care and continue enjoying. Don't forget my pressie (not dog stew please!) Viv

Hi Viv-just to point out we only stayed in the Penthouse for 1 night and it was free! Gaz says dog is delicious he has it every night-with a little garlic and chilli. Special variety in Malaysia is ridgeback! Well done on the wedding diet-have you been dress shopping yet? Ps- Who said you were getting a present!?! What do you want anyway?
