Our first impressions of the Cameron Highlands were not as imagined. The town of Tanah rata was plain. However once we headed out of the town it was beautiful!!
We got a taxi up the windy hills to the Sangai Tea plantation. It was so vast with tea-trees covering the hills all around us, green in colour. We visited the factory which smelled really strong!! Then we sampled the 'Palas Supreme' Best of highlands or 'BOH' tea which really was lovely. After we had a four hour walk back down the windy hills where the views were stunning!! We stopped at an English house called 'Ye olde Smokehouse"!! It was just like sitting in a Surrey country house!!! We sat in the gardens and had a cream tea!!! Scones and tea!!! Delicious! We were tired so headed back! In the evening we had a meal with a couple we'd met from Nottinghamshire.
