Explored Melaka today...lots of character due to the different architectural influences resulting from its contact with traders from China, Holland, Portugul, Britain and the middle-east (which also brought Islam).

There's a noticeable chinese presence here and china town is pretty interesting;incorporating buddhist temples, mosques and hindu temples..and the food is great.

Went to the Maritime museum which is inside a replica of an old Portuguese sailing ship.

Good views of Melaka from the ruins of St Pauls church overlooking the city..

Clare arrives 6:30/7am on the 25th at KLIA but I'll probably hang around here till then as rooms in KL are 40RM for a single...the place is relaxing enough...
