Kelantan is not only known with its variety of cultural but also famous with its unique food . The famous desserts in Kelantan : Jala Mas, Akok, Taik Itek, Lompat Tikam, Puteri Mandi, etc

Other famous food : Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu , Nasi Berlauk, Nasi Tumpang, Laksé, Laksam, Ayam Percik, etc.

Nasi Dagang - it is based on red glutinous rice and is served with fish curry & raw pickles.

Nasi Kerabu - it comes with blue color (malay), green color (chinese) or white color. Is eaten with raw veges (bunga kantan, lemon grass, long beans, beans sprouts, cucumber, daun kesum, big onions , petai, pineapples, black pepper & other types of herbs - all slice thinly) as well as "special ikan" (grill the fish) & fry the coconut flakes (kerisik). Mix well & pour a bit of budu (fish sauce). It goes very well with fish crackers (keropok). Optional : solok lada, salted eggs. Is yummy......

Nasi Berlauk - Simple & tasty. Served with white rice & fish curry it is traditionally cooked.

Nasi Tumpang - this special dish is a combination of various rice & curry which is arranged layer in a triangular banana leaf wrapper.

Laksé & Laksam - Bsed on rice powder & is served with white coconut milk fish curry. Adds some raw vege such as bean sprouts, some herbs / leaves as "ulam".

Ayam Percik - famous in Kelantan. Is grilled chicken with coconut milk. Another option is : grilled fish - also very tasty.

Jala Mas - Very popular "kueh" & can only be found in Kelantan. Based on eggs & sugar & it is known as a Royal cake. My favourite !!!!

Akok - Makes from eggs & "gula melaka".

Taik Itek - quite sweet but it is delicious to eat. The ingredients are eggs, coconut milk & sugar.

Buah Tanjong - sweet , also known as Royal Kelantan food.

Puteri Mandi - literaly means "princess taking bath" .hahaha.... This sweet "kueh" is made from rice powder & taken with sweet fresh coconut.

Pulut Bakar - round shape & is wrapped in banana leaf.

Pulut Panggang - oblong shape & is wrapped in banana leaf. The cooked glutinous rice is saltless but the filling which is coconut flesh & fish fillet.

Dodol - It has varieties of color & taste.

Tepung Pelita - based on flour, coconut milk & sugar. It has two layers. Top layer is coconut milk & second layer is flour & sugar. It is put into banana leaf which has been made as its cup. It is also called "sampan" - means boat.

Ketupat Sotong - This tsty food is made by putting glutinous rice into the cuttlefish & it is cooked with brown sugar (gula melaka) as its sauce.

Seruling - The meat is shraded & cooked using special spices until it is truly dried. It is delicious to take by itself or served with rice.

Solok Lada - The filling is placed inside the chillies. The filling is made from flesh coconut, fish fillet & coconut milk.

Buah Jering - is eaten with mix of coconut & sugar. Firstly, boil the buah jering. Boiling of buah jering is a tedious process coz if doesnt do it properly, one can gets constipation easily
