Island Hopping

Langkawi Island was rainy-the kind of weather I'd hoped to escape-but it IS monsoon season. We did have one decent day to enjoy the super-soft white sand beaches. That morning we did an island hopping tour and the highlight was zooming along on the speedboat and jumping over the waves like we were on bucking broncos. You couldn't stop from laughing it was so much fun. The first stop was at an island with a freshwater lake in the middle, that according to the map, took up much of the island but did not seem at all to scale looking around. I got to put my feet in the water and receive a "massage" from the fish nibbling at my toes. Really weird feeling. Most of the tourists were Malaysian and many swam in the "amazing freshwater lake" so close to the salty ocean. To me a freshwater lake to swim in wasn't so phenomenal but there were plenty of monkeys to watch. Another stop was next to an island where loads of eagles come to fish. We stopped the boat and drifted for a bit and the sky above was filled with big eagles soaring and swooping down into the water.
