Im so lucky!
Everyday of this trip i realise how lucky i am but some days i get the feeling that im the luckiest person in the world and today was one.

We have spent the last few days on Langkawi, an island off of Malasia. We were incredibly lucky to be able to stay an extra couple of nights as with the Chinese new year everywhere is booked up. We are staying in chalets on the beach and each night we fall asleep with the sound of the gentle waves lapping on the beach and each morning we are awoken by the sun rising. The place is perfect, beautiful white sandy beaches that are extremely quiet and a great beach bar literally 10 meters from our room that sells tiger beer at the equivilent of 50p a bottle.

We woke up this morning with the beach busier than usual with celebrations for Chinese New Year. We had spent the previous few days on the beach so decided to take in some more of the island and hire some motorbikes for the day. We got the hang of driving them pretty quickly and made our way west to Pantai Kok, the beach

A great way to relax after 400 steps
here was very narrow but was still gorgeous with an old lighthouse at one end and rainforest at the other.

During the afternoon we headed up to Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells) where we parked our bikes and preceded up an extremely steep hill. After a few minutes we came to a waterfall that was pretty amazing, we climbed up it a little and decided we definately needed to cool down so Gaz jumped in, it was really slimey on the bottom and quite shallow, as Gaz made his way further towards the waterfall he fell down a hole in the water which was quite funny and after i was sure Gaz had checked for any other holes i slithered in and cooled off. It was great. We decided to climb the next 300m up to the seven wells, not really knowing what to expect. It must have been at least 35degrees and climbing it was tough but when we arrived at the top i realised it was so definately worth it. Pools of water gushing down to the waterfall below. The views were amazing and we spent the next hour or so messing about in the water, sliding down

This picture says it all about how were feeling today
mini waterfalls and rocks and enjoying the views around us. The photos dont do it justice and the colours of the rainforest on the mountains and the sun gleaming down on to the beach way below us was gorgeous.

To top it all off, we drove the half hour back to our beach hut and a rainbow shone brightly infront of us. Perfect!
