Mark on cig and fish break
Today is going to be a relaxer. Waking up and seeing your body scarred with bites swollen and red is not comforting. I'll do nothing...except ritually bathe my sores in lotion all day... these gigantic hot itchy marks that pock my skin were wells of blood for some flying thing...

Eventually I change my mind.. I move to the Chanthrom guesthouse next to the Organic restaurant and after a wonderful organic breakfast, (Organic Lao Coffee is awesome - of course I had the Mulberrry and cocunut milk shake and Mulberry tea for breakfast as well), I rent a bike and ride out to the organic farm 3 km North of Vang Vieng on the Nam Song river (www.laofarm.org).

The grow all maner of veggies but specialise in Mulberrry the leaves of which are fed to silkworms. I have a Mulberry shake (again) delicious and wander about the farm. Down a lane I spot a new construction - a house made from Adobe, sneak in and climb the steps to see the bedroom pics below looks really cosy ambience to me and I like that candle light holder hanging from the roof.. Some Foreigners stay and work on the farm

The house that Mark built
and I meet Mark from midlands (England) who has hung for about 3 months. He seems very serene, he explains that the frame and foundation is concrete but Adobe bricks are used. Over some fresh organic goats cheese (more food - have to keep these mosquites supplied with fresh organic blood, don't I??) he sympathises with me over my bites and we make small talk

I make the journey back at dusk with feint illumination from the moon. The dark black jagged shapes that are the mountains tower over the landscape..this small dot...is teased by his ever present flying foes who crash into him as he attempts to freewheel along the pot holded roads...

Sensational trip
Julian, I'm really really impressed by your blog. I could imagine how sensetional your trip has been going on. People who you've met, the way you've tried to enjoy yourself and the way you've written your blog( I needed a dictionary several times...) make me respect you. Amazing!! I felt like reading a special book. The only thing I advise you is you should check your girlfriend's name again...
