As we crossed into Laos the battle stations were up and the sand bags were stacked as the local police, army and civilians prepared themselves for the mighty Mekong to rise again... Trucks loaded with sand were being dumped along the river shore as the locals bagged it into sand bags and stacked the already 5 bag wall even higher. The last 50 miles from Lao to the Dien Bien Phu border is track and pretty deep on places. These trucks had been stuck for 2 days...

Not many places in the world can you check out of a country and then sleep on its doorstep... Suprisingly the benches were quiet comfy.

that track looks stupidly good!! haha i would love to do that on my new principia winter fixed bike i got from the club auction..Annette brought some wicked stuff down... scenery fantastic guys.. ps nice to speak to you the other day..missing ya

Hey guys. welldone sarah on updating the blog! its nice to see more piccies of carl and dogs!! those kids look scary- look at the picture and onehas got a stick ready to hit you!!!! i was thiking of you guys cycling to uni today and was wondering how you were getting on!! its getting very cold in england! you can now see my breath in my house! still refusing to put the heating on though. hope all is well and your not missing carters banter too much!!! love tara xxx
