Hmong Kids
Hmong kids mugging for the cam On our way to Luang Prabang, we had two brief stop overs. First was in an Hmong hill village, where curious kids follow us around as they love posing for our digicams. Me, with my pair of flat feet struggled to climb the muddy hill. Fhan had to hold my hand all the time as I was really struggling.
The next stop was at Pak Ou Buddha caves where Fhan gave a brief lucture on what the different Buddha poses mean. The caves are a repository of old Buddha image. The Lao people are mostly Buddhists, and practices Theravada Buddhism.

"Ahh civilization! " Jennifer exclaimed upon setting foot in our airconditioned hotel in Luang Prabang. Rama Hotel's comfy, although it's not exactly a lap of luxury. But after roughing out for the past two days, any hotel which offers clean bedsheets, hot shower and cable tv are, for us, connotes five-star accomodations.
We celebrated our "return to civilization" by splurging on dinner. That is, as backpackers with tight budgets, each of us usually spends an average of US$3 for a meal. This time around we spent around 10 US$ for
Follow The Leader
Curious Hmong kids follow us around, wanting to pose for pics dinner in this swanky cafe in Xiang Thong road called Cafe des Artistes. We all missed Western food (Tim was hankering for big juicy steak), fed up with a daily diet of fried rice and noodles.
We all ordered pizza- thin crust, loads of melted mozarella cheese. Later we went back to our hotel for a dose of HBO.
