This is our first stop in Laos. We have been in Luang Prabang for 3 days and are chilling out beautifully. The slow boat took us from the border of Thailand (Chiang Kong) to LP Over two days totalling 18 hours of travelling. We spent most of our time with Felix and Cushla (Cush), who were 20 and 28. The boat was mega basic and we ended up just lying on the floor, playing cards and lounging around in the gangway as the seats were murder after 4 or 5 hours.

We chilled on the day of arrival, checking in at the hotel at 7pm then went down to the Riverside and had a meal. The place is so chilled out, the people, the scenery, the vibe, everything.
Day 2 saw us venture out to the waterfalls with Cush and Felix, 24 km outside the city. They are stunning and must have been 100 metres tall atleast. I left my bag at the very top whilst taking photos, only realising when i got to the bottom, so Felix and I ran back up to find it untouched. The reality set in after we got it as it had about

After 2 nights in Luang Prabang we headed off to Vang Vieng on a 5 hour drive by mini van, with Cush and Felix. The scenery was spectacular as the hills became mountains. VV is very basic, one long street with a few side streets all with guest houses and bars down them. We stayed at a $4 guest house for a night after having a meal and a few beer Laos. In the morning we headed straight for brekky with intentions of doing the famous tubing. A blown up tractor tire that you sit on and meander down the river stopping off at bars and rope swings on the way down. We all were on the river by 1:30pm and straight away stopped on the the first bar for a Beer Lao and had a session on the rope swing. It is pure jokes as we got more pissed on beer and Lao Lao whiskey, as we sailed down the river getting more and more adventurous with the swings. We spent 5 hours or so tubing before the sun dropped behind the mountains and called it a day. A wicked
