Saturday the 4th February, Alek, Belinda and I decided to go for a drive to Shimizu Port and around the coast to get some nice photos of Mount Fuji. As always, if you can see blue skies everywhere else, all the clouds are probably hanging around Mt Fuji! And this was true, ruining our photo opportunities. Anyway we still got a fair amount of sightseeing done. We visited:

*Shimizu Port - saw the outdoor brick-a-brack market (mostly junk), went inside S-Pulse Dream Plaza and saw the colourful food hall, ate lunch at an Italian restaurant, bought food from the international shop (cheddar cheese, basil pesto, tortillas, toblerone) and chatted to a lady walking her pet ferret!
*Miho Bathing Beach - the only place to cool off in summer will be here! On the way we found some small aeroplanes!
*Strawberry Lane & Kunozan Toshogu Shrine - There is a long road along the coast and it is filled with strawberry fields. When it gets warmer I will go strawberry picking! There was also a shrine along this road. It is on top of a mountain, so we decided to climb it - so many steps! Once we reached the top, we were told that the gates at the bottom were closing in 10 minutes and we would not be able to go inside! When we reached the bottom, we had some fresh strawberry ice-cream! Yum!
