So this weekend I finally packed up and headed out to - what felt like - the tropical paradise of Tokyo for a weekend adventure and 'Thanksgiving Dinner'. Friday night I took the last train out of Tsuru to Tokyo (midnight on the orient express? Is that PC?). I got a FREE SAMPLE of fish from here!!! A free sample of fresh, raw, tuna! It was unbelievable to say the least...

One of the sushi markets near the actual fish market. This was the longest line we'd seen. Seemed pretty good, but we didn't have the patience to wait for it.

We found a BEEF shop in the FISH market!!!

We sat right in front of the sushi chefs, and this was the first thing we saw when we sat down.

Ok.. going across from left to right first row: egg, tuna rolls, egg second row: more different tuna, some kind of white fish, tuna again, and I have no idea but it was delicious third row: sweet shrimp, urchin, salmon eggs, not very delicious eggs, and eel (my favorite) To the far right is miso soup with salmon in it. Unbelievably delicious... especially for 8 bucks!

That is a bona fide piece of raw whale. I wanted to go for the strangest piece of sushi I could find, and I think this is pretty out there. It tasted almost exactly like roast beef.
