Kyoto Car Boot Sale
Is it me or does this antiques market look more like a car boot sale? Great place to grab a bargain kimono!

Sushi for Jish
Bear paws just weren't designed for chopsticks, so here's Glynn helping Jish with his sushi :-)

Can you guess what it is yet?
We weren't convinced that this was indeed a type of potato, so Jude bravely stepped up to sniff the evidence...

Glynn was pleased to discover the green tea ice cream is actually very tasty.

Sleeping cats
The little guys are used by the homeless to beg for money. They will asked passers by for money to help look after the cute kittens. What they don't tell you is that as soon a newer, cuter kittens come along, the cats tend to be abandoned - or worse :-(

Spot the Geisha
10 points to the first person to spot the Geisha in the photo!

Tiny Trucks
It's like someone put some trucks into a shrinking machine and made them about a a third smaller. We even spotted tiny cement mixers and tiny fire engines!

Dodgy sweets
Want a bit of my collon anyone? Ok it's not quite colon but it's too close to be appetising in my book!

The art of subtle advertising
This is Yasaka Shrine. Do not be deceived by these lovely looking lanterns - they are really adverts for local restaurants. All proceeds go to the upkeep of the shrine of course!

Samuri statue in Yasaka Shrine gardens
While Junko and I rested our weary legs, Glynn came across this samuri statue as he wandered through the gardens.

Gion at dusk
the Gion district of Kyoto lies alongside the river. This area is where the Geisha hang out, although you're lucky if you get to see one at all. 5pm is apparently the best time to try.

Monkey Magic
Glynn makes a new friend at Monkey Mountain in Arashiyama.

Baby monkey
This little chap was so cute but really mischievous. He kept running off from his mum and she wasn't happy about it!

None shall pass!
Glynn wonders if the security budget has been cut. After all, who'd work for peanuts?

Grey ice cream!
When someone told us you could get sesame ice cream, I had to give it a try. Just like eating frozen Snickers!

At Fushimi Shrine there are a lot of these torri or red gates. Can you spot Jude at the back?
