To day had a lazy morning sleeping - didn't want to experience the heat outside. After lunch went shopping and went to Kyoto Tower. The Tower was great, telescopes to view the whole area, could see all the temples and Japanese gardens we had visited yesterday, the housing - apartment blocks galore, buildings never ending - in a full circle.
The housing is high rise one or two bedroom apartments, family of four or five live in 9sq apartment. the buildings all sit on top of each other. We were told that the popul of Tokyo is 12.5 million, not sure on Kyoto, but Japan itself is 125 million, you can tell by the people, everywhere you go it is crowded. All the guys going to work all wear black long pants and white shirts, no colour here.
Tokyo and Kyoto are very clean, the gardens are beautiful very well cared for, missed thre cherry blossoms, only blossom for 10 days per year from 1 April, a bit like Mt Fuji, blink and you miss it.
Having trouble attahing photos, will keep trying.
