A Week in the Life

I thought I would do something a little different from my traditional blog entries and just write about an ordinary week in Kyoto, Japan : )

Here is what my week was like Monday, December 8th through Sunday, December 14th.

Monday--

Monday's are quite relaxed for me because class does not start until later....here is what it looks like.

12~1:00PM- Wake up and eat late lunch
2:20- Ride my bike to school. (It takes about 15 minutes to bike to school)
2:40~4:10- Japanese Class
4:20~5:50- Japanese Society
5:50~6:30- Bike to grocery store and then home (I usually goto the grocery store every Monday)
8:30~9:30- Dinner while watching Family Guy
10:00~12:00- Homework and CNN
1:00- Sleep

Tuesday

9:00AM- Wake up and eat breakfast while watching CNN
10:40~12:10- Asia Pacific Relations
12:10~1:00- Lunch on campus
1:00~2:30- Volleyball Club
2:30~4:00- Workout at the gym along with frineds
4:30~7:00- Nap before dinner
7:30- Dinner
8:30- Homework/Movies/CNN
1:00- Sleep

Wednesday

8:00- Wake up and breakfast
9:00~10:30- Environmental Economics
10:30~1:00- Freetime/Homework/Lunch
1:00~2:30- International Peace Studies
2:40~4:10- Workout at gym with friends
4:20~5:50- Comparative Histography
6:20- Home/Quick nap before dinner
8:00- Dinner and phone calls
1:00- Sleep

Thursday

8:00- Wake up and quick breakfast
9:00~10:30- Japanese Class
10:40~12:10- Workout at the gym
1:00~2:00- Lunch at home
2:00~3:00- Nap before class
3:00~3:30- Biking to Tea Ceremony class
3:30~5:00- Tea Ceremony
5:00- My weekend starts!!!
6:00~9:30- Christian Xmas Party (This was special this week and a great experience abroad! Most Japanese people are not religious and it was great to meet some other people that share my same faith

12:00-Sleep

Friday

I usually sleep in on Fridays because I never have class on this day. Sometimes I will leave on a Thursday night to travel to different parts of Japan like Tokyo or Osaka which is not very far.

11:30- Wake up and late breakfast
12:00~1:30- E-mail/Phone Calls/CNN
6:00~9:30- Classical Music concert with my friend Slyvia
10:30~7:00AM- Night club Sam and Dave ( This is a local hangout spot for many foreigners in Kyoto. Me and my friends have frequented this club many times! : )

Saturday

All day-SLEEP ( sleeping off my active weekend...... : ( )

Sunday

11:00- Wake up/Shower
12:00- Late breakfast
1:00- Met up with my Japanese friend Ryohei
2:00~8:00- Rented Rush Hour 2 and Narnia to watch at home
10:00-Sleep

I know this all seems like a hectic week but this is a good picture of what a week looks like for me here in Kyoto; much more active than my life in the states I must say : ) But Japan is a new place for me and I am trying to experience as much as possible also. More updates to come soon!
