Yay! We're in India. We arrived in Kerala, India this afternoon after a much anticipated departure from Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is definitely a beautiful and a unique experience but we don't see ourselves going back there. I think it will be at least 5 years before it has the infrastructure to support a tourism industry.(Also 9/10 people we met were jerks...details). As soon as we landed in India we felt lighter. The atmosphere here is more relaxed, the scenery is gorgeous and our hotel is amazing! We were picked up by a hotel transfer taxi right from the airport. It was about an hour drive from the airport to our hotel. Along the way the ride got a little bumpy, our driver pulled over and we discovered we had a flat tire. So there we were, Justin, myself and the driver on an expressway in the middle of India with a broken down car. Seriously, who else does this happen to? Our driver felt really bad but Justin and I just laughed, because really, what else

are you going to do? Luckily Justin was able to help him change the tire in the middle of traffic and we were on our way again within 10 min. No big deal!

We found that most of the people we met in Sri Lanka were not that friendly, since being in India for a day we have made a lot of friends. We have been asked at least 3 times if we are German (is it my moustache?) once if are British and were told that we must be from opposite ends of Canada because our accents are so different from each other (after which I said "mine's better, right?" And she agreed and said I am easier to understand... Hazaaa!!! They love me! Hahaha). We are spending a couple of days here in Kerala and I'm so glad we're here. I'm probably going to spend all of my money on jewellery and clothes because everything here is so freakin' beautiful. Bring on the shopping.

Xoxo

I'm so glad your both having fun in the warm hot 39 degree weather, bet its better then the rainy windy remnants of hurricane Sandy that we are getting here. Looking forward to reading more on your trip, and seeing your pictures. I love traveling vicariously (sp?) through other people.
