Goa is not a place you would visit once in your lifetime. After the first visit, am sure you would like to visit again and again. It’s regarded as a Portuguese Shangri-la on Indian soil with many charming things to see and do here that you cannot miss. When you are in Goa, do as they do and eventually spare more time for the below must-do activities.
Goa beaches serve as hubs for tourists both international and local. The town also hosts a couple of hotels, shacks, bars and restaurants and also water sports that you can be lost in. These are all crammed in and around the towns that hug the sandy shores.
Besides those, there are many other things to do and see in Goa. Just sit relax and give us space to show you the other side of Goa.
Beauty and the Beach
A trip to Goa should start with a beach time. You can start your visit to this beautiful site by visiting beaches in the North Goa. However, if you don’t want to spend your time in congested places, you can opt for beaches in south Goa because they are less crowded. The best
of all beaches in this place are Arossim Beach and the Utorda Beach that sits next to the town of Majorda. On the Northern side of Goa, you can opt for Baga, Anjuna bag and Calangute.
Get lost in the Adventurous water sports
As I had already indicated, there are many water sports in the area that you can get lost into. They are actually the major attractions of Goa because there are many of them that can accommodate each person’s preferences. You are likely to enjoy such activities as scuba diving, water skiing, surfing, boogie boarding, deep sea fishing, parasailing, jet-skiing and windsurfing.
Wild-life sanctuary
I would as well recommend visiting the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife sanctuary. This sanctuary is located near Molem and offers you a greater opportunity to enjoy wildlife and take photographs. It’s actually the best place in India where you can find peace with Mother Nature. Here, you will sees major wild animals such as panther, mouse and sloth bear.
Mapusa
This town is the largest in Northern Goa where you can visit for shopping and to interact with the Locals. It actually receives thousands of visitors each year especially for shopping. The
town maybe busy but there’s a lot for you to do and see.
Holistic healing
Many people will visit India and Goa in specific for holistic healing including Yoga, Reiki and Ayurvedic treatments. You will actually find an age old natural practice being practiced in Goa by doctors in the Keri Village of Goa. You can also visit a couple of yoga or meditation centers. However, the Yoga Magic, Yab Yum, The Mandala and Ashiyana are the best to do that.
Goa Heritage
If you are visiting this amazing land without any hurry, I would recommend you to explore the heritage of Goa. Start by paying attention to the west of Panjim which resembles Indo-Portuguese period. There are many museums, bakeries, churches, converts, Bungalows, art galleries and Government buildings.
Start with the Se de Santa Catarina which is the glorious Basilica of Bom Jesus. You can as well opt for The Naval Aviation Museum.
Café Mambo
This is a nice place to visit during a vacation at Goa. It’s owned by Tito’s. Many people regard to this site as a sophisticated version of the former. It’s actually hosted by DJs at night. You can actually get
here at night and enjoy your time with hip-hop and latino tunes.
Casinos
Goa will allow you to enjoy to the fullest. It actually hosts many casinos such as Casino Cruises. In Goa, there are many machine operated casinos that you can check one at a time. However, men usually find them enjoying. What this means is that you are likely to find more men than women.
Although Gambling is not very popular in India, Goa has a couple of onshore and offshore casinos for the visitors both local and international.
There’s definitely something for you regardless of your specific needs. It’s actually a nice place to find peace, feel happy which shows you will take memorable moments back home.
Visit the Body of St. Francis Xavier
This man was regarded as the patron of Saint of Goa. He’s a mortal that remains significant in Goa and India at large. His remains are still preserved at the beautiful basilica of Bom Jesus. It’s actually a must see place for you. This church is actually marked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. His body is encased in a glass container and a silver casket.
It’s also
a nice place to start your journey to the Museum of Christian arts. This is actually a short walk from the Basilica that explains everything about the Christian History.
Trek to Goa Waterfalls
Goa also hosts a couple of beautiful waterfalls where you can as well spend your time into. As a matter of fact, there are 10 Goa Waterfalls in total. I would recommend you visit the Hivre and Sada because they are actually the best places to trek and have a hardcore adventure. You can as well visit the Aravalem waterfall in Sanquelim which is unquestionably breathtaking. You will actually feel the spray in your face.
If you are planning to visit this places for the best photos, please ensure you have a waterproof camera and a waterproof case for your phones. This will reduce the chances of your phone getting spoilt.
With all the above things to do and see in Goa, I believe you cannot be bored whether you are travelling alone, with your family, friends or children. However start your journey on the beaches and end your journey in the Museums or trekking to the beautiful waterfalls and visiting parks and wild animal sanctuaries for the best experience.
