First impressions of Agra (home of the Taj Mahal), city: crap, hotel: crap, so we camped out at the hotel (that resembled a prison) avoiding the outside world. As soon as we stepped out of the front door, there was a massive dump of rubbish, 3 cows were making a meal out of, and the pollution was minging, how sceanic!
Cabin fever got the better of us and we got a auto-rickshaw to a restaurant recommended by the lonely planet.....wasn't going to risk any free-styling today! restaurant ok, but not what its was hyped up to be! so early to bed in preparation for the morning.........sunrise at the Taj Mahal!
i think the lonely planet sum it up well 'even the greatest of poets havn't been able to express, in words, the beauty and splendor of the Taj Mahal, the greatest monument to love ever built' ! so i don't think i'll even attempt to try!

Hey Katie, seems like your still having a wicked time, but doesn't seem like you've warmed to well to the indian way of life. The taj does look impressive, but it looks really smoggy all around. Are all the big cities like that? Anyway at work so i should be working. Have fun and Take Care. Ed x
